Christmas Pillows & Shearling Mittens

Although I don't normally consider myself a crafter, these gifts were enjoyable to make. I gave these appliquéd and embroidered pillows and hand dyed shearling mittens as Chrismas gifts.

Voltage 2010 Concept

Borrowing textiles and silhouettes traditionally reserved for menswear, this collection embraces masculine details, while celebrating female form. These garments pair fine and rugged textiles with dainty chiffons, inspired by 19th century attire. From equestrian wear to lace collars, this collection pursues a look that is as much sophisticated, as it is alleycat.

Cycling Tool Pouch

Made as a prize for the upcoming Scavenger Night Fever (scavengernightfever.com), this pouch is made of water resistant canvas and lined with lightweight nylon. Intended to neatly hold tools and other cycling accoutrements, it also doubles as a clutch.

His & Her Cycling Packs

A pair of backpacks made as a wedding gift for dear friends. The skyline motif was taken from the invitation.

ArtWear in Motion 2006

Made for the Textile Center's Artwear in Motion in 2006.
The sculpted wood bolero was purchased by the Minnesota Historical Society.

Focusing on gender power dynamics within fashion, this collection highlights female garb that both oppresses as well as emboldens.
