I have been interested in creating miniature artifacts for some time now. When Springboard for the Arts invited me to submit a work for a fundraiser, I thought it was a great opportunity to further explore miniatures. Consumed with stories of whaling and sea travel (the inspiration for my Fall 2011 fashion collection "Call Me Ishmael), I chose to sculpt a tiny harpoon.
