Wool + Leather Whale Etched Travel Bag

This winter-white wool and brown leather handbag is part of my most recent collection, Call Me Ishmael. Inspired by life aboard a sailing ship, I explore what a modern day heroine might don during a trans-Atlantic journey. I find beauty in the utility, tradition, artifacts and voyagers of square-rigged ships and the whaling industry.

The main body of this bag is made from a beautiful woven textured wool, resembling ropes from a ship. The rich brown leather flap and straps are stitched with an off white thread re-enforced with chrome rivets and buckles. The whale and harpoon motif was illustrated by Lisa Luck (http://www.lisaluckart.com) and etched with a CNC laser. It is lined with gray twill.

It is available for purchase here!
